Student Grant Program

Purpose:
In order to supplement the learning opportunities of talented and gifted students, OATAG wishes to assist local students augment and enrich their education by awarding grants.  Grants may include, but are not limited to:
  • An original project that promotes the TAG student's academic, creative, and/or leadership potential.
  • A research or community project involving the TAG student.
  • An opportunity to participate in an activity/class that is of particular interest to the student.
Students are encouraged to find a mentor for their project.  Previously, applications were accepted from individual students or teams and the mentor was required to be a teacher.  Due to the uncertainty of school attendance as a result of Covid-19, we are restricting applications to individual students for the 21-22 school year.  We also will accept applications where the parent will be the student’s mentor.  We will continue to expect that the application and the project can be completed with limited adult assistance.

Grant Committee Review:

  • the completeness of the information
  • the clarity of the goal
  • the relationship of the evaluation process to the stated goal
  • the feasibility of the plan for dissemination
  • the reasonableness of the budget for the goal
Decisions by the committee are final and not subject to review.
