A workshop for parents and TAG teachers

Dr. Marilyn J Sorensen, author of five books, including Breaking the Chain of Low Self-Esteem and The Handbook for Building Healthy Self-Esteem in Children, will present a workshop for parents and teachers of gifted and talented children. She is a Portland psychologist who has worked with clients from around the world for over 30 years. As Director of The Self-Esteem Institute, she has developed a program for recovery from low self esteem. In this workshop she will present a definition of self esteem, discuss indicators of good vs. low self-esteem in children and talk about the potential consequences of poor self-esteem in adult life. She will specifically address how it uniquely affects gifted children and will discuss issues that are critical to building healthy self esteem in children
