Welcome to the official website of the Oregon
Association of Talented and Gifted, OATAG. We are a non-profit,
non-discriminatory, statewide organization of parents and educators
interested in promoting growth opportunities for talented and
gifted children in Oregon. OATAG is the state affiliate of the
National
Association of Gifted Children.
Our mission is to advocate for the needs of talented and gifted
children; serve as a resource for families, educators, and
communities; and provide direction for excellence in education.
Toward this end we participate in a variety of activities and
services which include:
•Networking opportunities for district level TAG
coordinators to meet with others in their area and discuss local
practices, opportunities, and services.
•Service On Site (SOS): a new program providing
in-service training tailored to individual school districts along
with informative parent meetings.
•Three annual issues of the OATAG
newsletter, A Different Drummer.
•Legislative Updates on issues related to gifted education.
•Development and production of
publications on education of the talented and
gifted.
•Scholarships for summer gifted experiences and
participation in the national Nicholas Green Award through NAGC.
OATAG acts as a statewide resource for parents, educators, and
others interested in a quality education for Oregon’s talented and
gifted youth. If you support the goals and activities of OATAG, we
encourage you to join us. Click here for more information.
